Just installed a new Blue Chip VP44 pump in my 99 2wd Quadcab. It finally gave up after 199,000 miles.
After driving all those miles, you tend to not notice the slow drift downward of performance. After the pump install I took it out for a good drive and what a difference! The seat-of-the-pants meter says that I've got quite a bit more snap to the acceleration and a much smoother idle.

I went with the $1850/new computer model. I'll be buried in this truck and I think it's just too risky to buy a reman'ed pump with a questionable-lifespan computer.

Easy install, maybe 3.5 hours start to finish.

The ownership at Blue Chip changed hands a few years ago but it seems their quality has not waivered. It's very rare to hear of any failures or complaints related to their pumps.
