I don't think they have all their facts straight, the 6. 7 should be alot higher torque than that and the GVWR is low, it is correct for a Mega cab but not the rest.

That didn't look right to me either... we should be able to find out something concrete pretty quick as DC I believe, is unveiling it tomorrow.

It wouldnt suprise me if they offered the de-tuned version in the commercial versions. It'll be harder for employees to tear up the truck. It's also quite possible that an auto will be the only trans available. Just my . 02

You are a KillJoy aren't you. ;)

Very interesting.

4500/5500 trucks will have an option of a Six-speed Auto, or Manual, both with PTO, and the HP will be at 305HP at 3,000RPM, and 610 Ft Lbs at 1,600RPM.

Other than a 15,000 Mile oil Change interval, no other aspects were mentioned such as Cat, EGR, VGT, or Particulate filters. .

Also a 52 Gallon fuel tank. Nice.

I think thge class leading 10,500 GVWR is highest in calss because it is comparing SRW trucks... The DRW trucks have a 12,500 rating.

GCWR is 23,000.

The 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 Chassis Cab delivers a best-in-class single-rear-wheel GVWR of 10,200 lbs. Maximum GVWR for dual-rear-wheel models is 12,500 lbs. When equipped with the 6. 7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel, the Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR) is 23,000 lbs.

Also what appears to be a factory option, is an exhaust brake.

With a bigger motor, exhaust braking should be greatly improved.

These are 3500 trucks. They are not the long anticipated 4500/5500's. I would expect to see the 6. 7 and 6 speed auto in pickups soon. Suspect DC is not announcing until the pickup inventory depletes though.

Steve announced in the towing/hauling forum that he is writing an article after talking with the DC and Cummins engineers. Look on the front page later today for more details.

No 4500/5500 unveiling today? I thought that's what all the fuss was about. I wasn't expecting a 3500 cab and chassis.

Yeah. Disappointing if you ask me. I need more than 12. 5k GVWR for my shop truck. What are they waiting for?

Yawn ... Oh well this announcement is like having Phyllis Diller pop out of the big cake at your batchlor party ... what a let down.

but it does show a sign of things to come! I bet the frame will be the same in the 45-5500's. and the 6spd. auto is going to be interesting.
