I got the FP and boost hooked up today and I sure am

not to happy:(

As for the boost I am only getting 17 psi max, can't

see any leaks, is this normal ( stock 98. 5 24 V) ?

Now for the FP. 9 psi at idle low as 3 WOT. the trouble

I am having is that I installed a machical gauge with

isolator(autometer). The side that goes into cab is filled

with coolant and water mix, now the problem, as per

instructions you are to " quickley attach the hose to the

isolater and not loose any solution and not get any air into

the system, HOW FRIGGIN STUPID!!!!!!!

I cannot imagine how there is not a spot of air in

the hose and there fore a bad reading.

Anyone shed light on this????

TIA

Kirk

Some of us have intentionally trapped air in our fuel pressure gauge systems to dampen pulsations that could harm electric senders. Perhaps the pressures you're seeing are accurate.

17psi is a little low but there could be factors such as a soft wastegate... and maybe not a leak. Your not too far off 20psi which is high normal or close to that. Any higher than that and you get close to setting overboost codes.

Having a little air wont hurt the gauge. If you were trying to read 600 psi... maybe. But not at the pressure range your in.

18 psi is normal peak for a stock 98 24v so you aren't far off there - 20 psi is where it will set a code and start defueling. On the isolator I'm sure they want you to try to get the minimum amount of air in there - almost no way for you to get none in there. Is that 3 wot sitting still in neutral or driving under load? I wouldn't be surprised at all for you to have low fuel pressure - as a matter of fact I'm surprised it's that high. How many miles on your truck?

defuelin

just got my gauges in and ave a few questions?i have had the 0234 for awhile-i can get up to 31psi with the truck stock,is it defueling after 20?just put a new lp in 15idle 11 cruise 9wot i was hoping for more but it better than the 2-3 wot i had-63k:D

My 98. 5 24v got 17-18 psi boost stock setup until I changed injectors and put in a boost fooler... ... now I get 32 psi.

The air bubble in your fuel pressure setup is not a problem, it just dampens the pressure change a little but as the above post said we are only looking at 15 psi max.

Just a quick heads-up for anyone ever thinking about installing a pusher pump. You will need a 30# guage. I have the same pusher setup as Steve St. L and I have 20# at idle and can't pull it down below 13#. I got my guage pod and guages from River City turbo, he sells the setup on ebay all the time. It comes with the 30# guage with the isolator, EGT, Boost.
