I can tell you that is the furthest thing from the truth, he reads everyday and talks with different people in order to broaden his knowledge. I feel that this is probably what makes him get so emotional over posts that he knows that are technically flawed as he often gets the calls saying that it indeed didn't work. There are alot of people that rely on experts such as him to keep them from making the wrong purchase.

Amen to that Stefan!

I first met Bill several years ago while he was still at BD... since then we have become friends (as most who meet him do) and it has meant a lot to me knowing I have a true transmission specialist taking care of the performance enhancements of my 47RE which by the way, are his innovations/adaptations from lessons learned through his extensive drag racing experience. A better man in your corner you cannot find!

I have seen other companies converters and I have never seen one of this Magnitude, it doesn't look like it would even go in a transmission, it looks like you would use it out on the battle field to win a war:D

Oh really? I talked with Bill Kondolay last Friday asking him how it was going etc... .

he told me they had been replacing almost nothing but defective Suncoast TCs lately. Suncoast got it together? When? Sounds as if they're still selling the same crap they always have.

John,

From the way Bill makes his post about other competitors on the forum I am sure he told you that and alot more. Like I stated in previous post I wasn't even referring to Bill or his company and I haven't yet figured out why he is even making post to me. I run the Suncoast Converter and it is an exceptional product I am not trying to make anyone a believer, I am simply stating my experiences for the benefit of other forum members. If it breaks his heart to hear that another company has a good product, once again it is not my problem. I honestly don't care if my post please Mr. Bill Kondalay.

Dennis

Dennis, the last two times I was up at DTT they were either replacing or had just replaced a Suncoast TC in a customer's Ram. In both cases, I saw the Suncoast TC in the scrap pile. How would you explain that one off?

Bill Kondolay/DTT isn't the only place that I have heard of that has replaced bad Suncoast TCs... . closer to home (The PowerShop in Enumclaw, WA) has done so on occasion too.

Bill,

Luckily I have a 6spd but lots of people trust you and if I need a TC for a Diesel I'll call you.

BUT, I NOTICED THAT dramer AND clint QUIT RESPONDING TO POSTS!!!!!!

This has totally destroyed any trust I might have had in them and their products.

If they're not worth defending then they're not worth buying.

JMHO:D:D:D:D:D

Mark

P. S. Hope you guys had a merry Christmas ans a Happy new year.

As for ATS being reluctant to respond to posts, that are totally untrue. Due to customer volume and time spent producing and marketing our product, we haven't had surplus time to respond to all posts (especially negative ones). Mark; sorry we don't feel the need to base trust on opinions.

The people basing opinions on them have not used our products. It is such a waste of time at least that’s what (we think) So if that’s how you judge your opinions please don't write about our products. Our converters are not using new technology, but rather technology that has already proven itself. We are simply applying this diesel performance.

Hope that if you ever have a product of your own that it will be judged by your standards. We think that using a product gives you the right to judge.

We also use the concept that action speaks the product. Please don’t judge others by this standard. This just promotes NO Response from our establishment in most cases.

Please note we also don’t judge you even if we should. If we just followed other people by opinions we would not move forward or any company for that matter, as new products comes from innovation and hard work.

Our products speak for themselves. We make sure that every product coming out of our shop is of the highest standards. So one more thought, we don't know you and you don't know us, so your opinions don't count to us under your standards. For others, we would hope that a jury, and not your opinions would judge us. We would rather respond to questions not negativity (What A Shame) what does this do but get people defensive and waste time.

This is an easy one. You said you bought this TC from SunCoast because they gave you the "trust me" line. Like Stefan said, if you knew the number of calls Bill gets from guys that fell for the trust me line and got screwed, it would be a hot button for you too. If you would have pointed out SunCoasts new TC design with some facts and figures, we would have probably never heard from Bill. -- This is not to say that this will happen to you, I am only trying to point out my interpretation of the answer to your question about why Bill posted to you.

Well I find your comment to be really sad. Because I believe that a persons opinion is all that matters. I believe that facts and figures are things that people use to form an opinion. People collect facts, figures, even other peoples opinion. Then they apply some weighting to various factors based on thier own priorities. For some reliability is more important, for other all out performance is more important, etc. In the end this is all used to from our own opinion of what is best for us.

And if by new technology you are refering to what I said, I realize that low stall TC's went out in racing 15+ years ago. And our current stator technology has been around a while. In the diesel truck industry I believe its new.

So you still don't get it. Would you like to be judged by opinion? have judgement passed from opinion not FACTS? Have you used this product with the transmission? There is a big difference between opinion and prejudgice.

I think I get it just fine. And yes I think people judge me by their opinion of me. Thats how it works. If I treat people in a way that is consistent with their priorities in life, then they will judge a nice guy. If I treat people like crap, with respect to their priorities in life, then they will think I am an a$$hole.

In the end my comment still stands. Opinions are what matters. I have my opinion of me. And to me that is what matters. Other people have their opinion of me, and for them that is what matters. I may or may not like their opinion of me, or I may or may not care. But for them their opinion is what matters, it is how they will judge me, it is what they will say to others when I am not around, etc. This is how it works.

Now you may not agree with this. And thats OK because I dont find it sad that you have your own opinion. I find it sad that you dont think other people can have their own opinions. At least thats my interpretation of your original comment.

Hey guys I was just thinking that I've got a couple opinions myself :), first one is that everybody sure does **** and moan alot about these t/c, but I guess that's what keeps the TDR exciting. Oh yeah, my second opinion is that I still have my ATS t/c, the one that should be going out after 2000 to 3000 miles after installation. I think somebody posted that comment. I now have over 6000 extremely hard miles on the t/c with no failure. But with my kind of hp and torque #'s a stock converter will hold up according to Bill K. I am wondering what kind of stock t/c he is refering to, it must be one that doesn't lock up because my stock converters never took the abuse that I have given this one.

After reading this last post-- this is exactly what we want to avoid. Ranee (my wife), myself, Don, and everyone else here take a pride in what we do. To keep it simple --we all enjoy it. There is nothing wrong in doing what you enjoy... . Everyday.

You are right--opinions do matter. Depending on how fairly the information is judged and what information has been given and comprehended. Keeping in mind -- that the world and technology is constantly changing---and so are opinions.

We can go on and on. Your actions and opinions are yours--and you are responsible for them. That is OK. We all live with the same responsiblity.

It is clear, you are not interested in our product. We respect that. We do not want to 'force' our products on anyone. If your felt that way... we apologize.

Thank you for your 'opinion'.

Clint/Ranee,

Good for you on taking the high road with your reply. Now to get back to the original context of this thread, I have a question about your product. Do you support installation by the end user? I ask as I’m the type of backyard mechanic who prefers to do my own mechanical work whenever possible, and sometimes when it’s not. This doesn’t always end up being the most cost effective method, but the education I receive is well worth the added cost. I must admit up front that I have been leaning heavily towards G/B for my transmission upgrades, with ATS as a close second. I’ll be putting my money where my mouth is in late January or early February and wish to make my decision based on as much factual information as I can gather. DBR

YES... We support it... !! How else - was the west won-- So to say... . That is how Clint started... .

8 years old rebuilding his father's tractor motor, so they had a income, in southern Texas. I will not go on... he get's 'red faced' when I repeat the story... .

Anyway... . You are right... Sometimes it doesn't always end up being the most cost effective. . 'but' educationally it is ---what is the correct term now--- 'priceless... "

What ever your decision... GOOD for you and GOOD LUCK ALWAYS..... Hope end results are what you what and hope for...

Let us know if we can help in any way...

Thank you for interest...

Ranee,

Thanks for the quick reply. Another question: What do you offer in terms of V/B’s, such as complete set-ups and/or “shift-kits”?
