Yeah, Forrest I thought I was going to be Rad when I ground on my spares.

41Jay---where ARE you? You might have some TDR folks real close by who can help you out live and in-person. Or at least point and say,

"Naw, not like that--the other way"

I'm in Mid-Tenn an most of us will drive a few miles to meet and help someone out.

GSKGSKGSK, I cain't believe yall are messing with the plate profile and haven't put in a 3k yet. Where is yo manners?

Can I ask how you can run without a plate?? Am I to understand that you don't need one????

Somebuddy should write this up in the FAQ section. :p

As simple as I can make it: Plate profile = rack travel limit at given RPM. Take plate out = no limits.

That means that without plate the only fuel control you'll have within the parameters of your pump and nozzles is your FOOT--after the AFC kicks out, assuming you don't disable that too.

Some claim that removing the plate completely may be dangerous to the pump/truck/driver combination. Others take a different position. It was a big hot subject when I came on here back when.

Shorter answer: Take it out if you can deal with a lot of smoke and will keep a VERY CLOSE eye on the pyrometer, and don't mind wasting the pump if something goes kaput. LEAVE it in if you want to floor it and forget it.

Yep, Scott-the 5600 came out in 99. Musta been a slip of the finger. But I do know of a few 12v's with 5600's AND mine is getting a 4500. Early 215 pumps were 887's, later ones are 913. Either one works great. Lots of better stuff on the insides.

just got my plate ground. looks just like pic, was easy to do, now i'm putting back in, was just checking back to see if i missed something. i need to find where the star wheel is you guy's are talking about ,and where the springs are. i'm going to make 1 pull this weekend with it and then cool it till i get my gauges and springs.

Starwheel is on top of the AFC housing, 8MM allen wrench will loosen it up. Slide it forward for more pre-boost fueling... back for less.

thanks!! i just went for 2 rides the first ride i blew the intercooler hose off the intake. for got to tighten LOL lost lots of power. second run, HOLY crap i really been bit now, i can't wait to get those 3gsk springs. that star wheel adjustment nut is that about a 1/2 inch thing with the allen hole? looking from front of truck to my steering wheel i want to turn in clock wise? i would love to find someone in central WI to help me time it to 16 degree's also.
