OH YEAH yeah that's my old truck. I put the newer 17 inch wheels on it after the kids stole it and left it sitting with no wheels and tires! The insurance company painted the whole truck cuz it was pretty beat up after the joyride through the creek. I was really happy with the way it towed my TX760 backhoe most of its life. I finally got tired of running down electrical issues from the poor thing being under water, (well up to the door handles) so not completely "under" water. One night a cat peed in the dash and it was time to sell!!

It sure does look good in the snow! ... oh yeah keep block seal in the radiator it slows down the loss of antifreeze out the crack in the block.

Finally... ..... some sarcasm here, Thanks for the reply on the thread and I will take your advice on the leaking block. ;)

i bet you anxious steve, the truck should be gettin close! :D

He should be really close today, waiting here patiently on the arrival. I think I will give it a good bath when it gets here to get the road salt and the dirt from multiple states off of Ol Red.

Before that I need to get it to town where I can pressure wash the entire underside and exterior, I would never leave it dirty after such a long trip down.

I have a monster of a treadplate tool box to go in it, the hinged lid has 4 hydraulic struts on it and it was used in my other Cummins 2500, it stops about 4" from the bed and goes all the way from the cab to the just at the wheel wells. That monster has been taking up space in my basement since 2002 and it will be good to get it out and installed. I also have a very nice pintle ball hitch that is adjustable over a 1 foot range and it will be going on along with the corresponding tubular hitch lock.

I will have to take the Amateur Radio out of the Jeep then mount and wire it in to Ol Red also and get my antenna installed, I am pretty lucky as I kept all of this downstairs for the next truck purchase.

We had sleet and freezing rain all night and it finally stopped early this morning so I cant see that weather was any better from Tennessee north.

With my luck the guy will probably stop in the town just south of me tonight to bed down, oh well... ... patient as I can be considering.

Found some 10. 50 x 35 x 16 Toyo MT's at Kore for 260. 00 and some change and I think I will be getting them there, that is the cheapest I have found the MT's in that size.

before the truck left i sprayed the whole frame and under the body with a light oil similar to wd-40 i used LPS. since I knew it was going to see salt and the way its on the trailor the tires would kick up plenty, but Im sure it will need a bath, but it left my house spotless.

I have 285 75 16 Dean SXT Mud terrain's up front and 255 85 16 BFGoodrich Mud's in the rear.

I actually have had good luck with the Deans up front. The BFG's have about 20K miles on them and have about half tread left.

I am glad you guys liked my humor. Sometimes on here I will crack a joke and get no response. THANKS :)

Truck arrived in north Georgia this afternoon with no issues and it appears that they even washed it off prior to delivery at my residence. I couldn't be happier as it is exactly what I wanted in a truck.

Much thanks to my business partner on the selling side for the seamless transaction and a plug for Professional Transport Services for getting it here safely and on time in less than favorable weather conditions.

She got a good steam bath tonight and will get a hand wash and a fresh coat of wax tomorrow.

The truck is extremely clean for a 12 year old and I have not heard the first rattle or squeak from the interior on some bumpy roads. The huge rush of air as the boost climbs and the shove as it sets you back in the seat is very likable, the Suncoast transmission shifts quickly and firmly and I am trying to keep the boost around 5 to 10 lbs. for great mileage.

All in all very satisfied and much thanks for the opportunity to purchase.

Looks even better now that it's in your neighborhood, eh? Good luck with it, enjoy.

Thanks Joe and yes it is very nice to have it, the truck has lots of power and is looking to get great mileage as well, this thing will easily get over 20 on a regular basis if I can just manage the boost with the skinny pedal.

dont you just love the 12valves, over 450horse and can still get 20mpg

Yep power the old school way... ... by mechanical means without the use of computers, Add gauges... check, Add fuel ... check, Add Air... check, free flowing exhaust... check beef transmission for the pain it will no doubt receive... check.

I don't know the HP and Rear wheel torque numbers on this set up but it feels like it is in a respectable class.

The truck is just fun to drive and far and away from the mundane stockers.

i know its at least 400, theres a guy with me with a similar setup just smaller injectors and he made 400. so this truck has to be and with a turbo to push more air it would easily be 500

Well you can definitely feel it and I was quite surprised how drivable the truck was, it cranks very easily and has very good manners for something with that much power.

Regarding the tires and wheels I was pondering the purchase of, I decided on some Toyo MT's in the 315/75/16 size and decided to go with polished American Mojave wheels in the 16x8 size.

The tires and wheels will be installed tomorrow and as soon as I can get pictures I will add some post delivery pics with new shoes and socks on.

I am also contacting Pacbrake later this week or first of next week for one of their PRXB Brake's and will be looking into a set of KORE Variable Rate Coils for the front along with some Bilstein shocks and braided brake lines with an additional 2 inches of length for the front.

A Garmin or TomTom GPS will be added in the next week or so as well but I am going back and forth on which one to purchase, I know I want one with Bluetooth for the phone capability and the advanced lane direction feature is pretty cool also but there are a dozens of these things to pick from and I just haven't decided which one yet.

I have a MagHytec rear differential cover and will be installing it very soon also and might even purchase a temp gauge and run it to the rear end, I am also looking at adding a transmission temp gauge and will more than likely stay with the Auto Meter's you picked out as they work well, are very visible day or night and look cool as all get out.

I am curious if the engine has had any after market head studs installed or a different gasket due to the added boost pressure this thing is seeing.

Plus I am almost positive that it has had upgraded valve springs but I am still unsure of that aspect, if you run into the original owner around town see if you can get him to elaborate on these items and if possible feed me any intel ya can get.

In ending all Cummins motors in the Dodge trucks should run like this thing does, they derate them so much from the factory in the name of the "save the universe mantra" that it really does not do the great motor justice.

I say BOMB the #$%@ out of them until it suits your needs.

More later and until than have a great week up there on the farm buddy.

Alright fellas a short report on what went on today, I had my 12. 50x35x16 Toyo MT's on polished 16x8 American Racing Mojave wheels mounted. I decided to go a little different route with the wheels and think they turned out great.

The tires/wheels took an extremely small amount of weight to get them balance, as little as a quarter ounce on 2, half ounce on one and 1 ounce on the last. We decided to place the one with the ounce of weight on the rear axle to flatten it out some. Excellent results and Toyo and American Wheel are to be commended on their manufacturing process, allowed tolerances and quality control. These tires aren't cheap but you do definitely get what you pay for when you go with them.

I also got a leveling kit installed on the front to give the new Toyo's a little more room.

I got a quote on an Air Dog Fuel system to keep the beast fed and set up someone to do the install with me as I have never done this type mod before.

When I took delivery of the truck there was a very minor leak from the front passenger brake line at the lower fitting and I purchased another today and installed it prior to getting the new shoes and socks on Ol Red, I think the line could possibly been hit with a chain or strap during transport but it is a non issue now.

I am installing my ginormous tool box tomorrow and will post better pictures of the truck then.

Several things I have yet to get price quotes for are: PacBrake, Solid Axle Industries serviceable hubs assembly, Detroit SoftLocker for the Rear and Detroit TruTrac for the front.

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic
