"The TSB also advises the technician to print out the last page of the TSB and give it to the vehicle owner. here is a copy of it:"

I had the J35 reflash done last Friday and they didn't give me a print out either but I already knew what the overhead console warnings were anyway. So far it looks like the 1st phase of the regen now runs longer than it did before. It appears that I may be getting better mpg but the jury is still out on that... a few more miles will tell.

That print out is to explain the changes in the overhead messages when the ccn is reflashed. Most trucks would have had that done long ago while doing other up dates. It also would not apply to later model years.

When I got my truck back I had no printout but I noticed a new label on my sunvisor. The label explained all the console messages. I also noticed the label part number was included in the J35 recall on my workorder.

Just checked my truck for labels. No labels at all and no print out, truck feels the same. All I got was a copy of a work order. I wonder if they did anything?

The 09 does not need the ccn update it is shipped with the most current software for the EVIC. They should have filled out the label for the ECM flash. There is a chance that the ECM did not need the up date if it was flashed recently for another issue

The changes are subtle, almost seamless, it's not like they added 50 hp and they will be less noticeable on the '09s. I got the notation on the work order and no special printout. I don't know of anyone in this area that got a printout.

 It was built 1/09 & hasn't been in a dealer since I bought it 7/09 and they didnt do squat to it then.

Invoice says that they did it, . 04 hr charged. They recalled it not me.

They flashed the ecm for the J35... ..... with your build date you already had the latest software for the ccn..... ag suffix irrc hence the ccn flash was not needed (. 3)

I had mine flashed yesterday. built 3/2009, Bought 11/2009. No charge for the recall.

I also had them enable the idle up feature. The service writer didn't say anything about that costing so when they said $100 after the fact I said nope. So no charge.

I had the recall performed yesterday.

Some of the changes I've noticed so far are the trigger point for an active regen has changed from 4. 5 to 5. 9. The new regen is continuous as opposed to the previous which would stop if a constant load was removed from the engine. That was a good thing as living in a hilly area the regen would stop often. The regen stopped at 5. 6 where the previous setting would reduce the soot down to 2. 2.

Another item is the EGT was 1650, during regen, on a climb of about 7% with no load. Ambient temp was 64 F and about 50 MPH. Previous was 1350. I have just changed the EGT probe as it was not performing. It is installed in the exhaust manifold between #5 & #6. This probe may not be accurate either as 1650 seems a little high.

Cheers Ken

I've had the flash now for about 750 miles. The only real difference I seem to note is that there seems to be a hesitation after you shift, where the power comes back on post shift. I am not sure if the turbo seems to spool slower, or later, but it sure seems different than the way the truck ran pre-flash. Has anyone else noticed how it seems to have changed the power curve?

As for power, I towed the trailer over Stevens Pass last weekend, the same trip I took pre-flash, and the power did seem slightly stronger. It just seems to have noticeably more turbo lag, for lack of a better term.

I am at 5700 miles now too, and still no oil change indicator.

i will verify at the dealer tomorrow, (when we test drive for the shock tsb referred to in the clunk clunk thread), but according to chrysler when entering my vin # i do not have any incomplete or outstanding recalls or customer satisfaction notifications on my '08. i don't recall having had this flash done.

I noticed the same sort of hesitation when going from off throttle to on again unless I am really smooth with the transition. It seems to do that when I am in regen so its not all the time.

Got mine done last Friday 5-14-10. I definitely notice the different shifting. It now feels like a gasser with a wore out transmission. I absolutely hate how dodge can't seem to "fix" something without screwing up something else.

I fought with myself over getting the auto or manual when I bought this truck and I finally decided to get the auto for convenience and the fact that it actually shifted quite well for a stock auto.

Not anymore. Thanks Dodge...

Mike#@$%!

will the smarty work after the recall is performed? I have held off on having the recall performed for fear that a Smarty may not work in the future. Can anyone advise?

there have been another chrysler software update after the j35 recall... . will it ever end?

MADS is working on another update which will be 22

Flashed mine today, transmission feels like my 95 auto... I even lost my tow/haul function... . no longer changes gears with the + - toggle button. . It sure worked the day before. 3k miles... ..... just lovely... ... ...:mad::mad:

well, got reflashed today. Dealer came to my work and couldnt do it. It would appear I had 3500 software uploaded to my 2500 he said. He said he didnt think it was possible, but who knows. After he tried to fix it, i had to take it there to the shop and he used some wireless deal to upload the software. Anyways, shifting fine and my little rocker switch works now. For a minute, he was wondering if I had a 3500 ecu or a 3500 badged as a 2500... ... it was a real mystry for a bit...
