That's just plain scary! Sure hope that didn't harm anything. Did they give any indication as to any adverse effects their "mistake" may have on things?

J35 recall

i called blyth, ca. larry green dodge this morning. got my truck in this afternoon. . yes they are hurting for business.

but they are trying like everyone else...

in and out within the hour.

on the way back to the az, desert.

i noticed:

1. the engine is running smoother.

i was having a issue of a slight hunting/jurking at 62 mph, it's gone.

2. the cruise control isn't as aggresive, works smoother.

both up hill and down. engine brake works normal as does the tow haul features.

3. cat converter inlet temp. is higher at all loads and speeds.

so that means, i'm not recycling as much exhaust.

i'll be running several tanks through in the next week, so i'll be able to find out if there's any mileage improvement.

this is the first and only reflash done to this truck.

i had the fast idle enabled.

so far, i'm happy. but time will tell... .

Just saw this in the news today, another recall... . "Chrysler Group said it was conducting three recalls. The first covers about 22,000 Dodge Ram trucks from the 2008-2011 model years with steering problems. The second involves 65,000 2009 model year Dodge Journey SUVs to fix side air bags that might not deploy. The last includes about 57,000 Ram 1500 trucks from the 2011 model year; components in rear axles could cause the trucks to stall".

While on the subject, my Recall J35 Flash was completed 5-3-10, and changes noted: my De-sox regen "trigger" changed from 4. 5 to 5. 9, but it doesn't De-sox nearly as often as it did before the re-flash, and doesn't start until reaching 6. 4 or more???? Regen's in general are waay fewer, probably due to EGT's noticeably higher on average than before. Fuel mileage is picking up also, but probably just due to break-in, not the reflash, mostly pulling 8000# non-aerodynamic stock trailer. Now at 9600mi and getting 11. 7mpg pulling trailer, and 19. 3mpg empty (one roundtrip to Seattle in August), when traveling 60mph on freeway, so am pleased, as fuel mileage started out averaging about 9mpg w/trailer, and 16-18mpg empty.

Bruce.

recall numbers?

2008 2500 steering recall includes which vins? 2wd or 4 wd. I have not had a problem with 2WD yet, tire wear is normal etc. as it is a rack and pinion unit

Data not posted yet need to make a call to dealer said he had to look this up this morning . And was unaware of this action.

Well I guess I can ignore this recall since the DPF, CAT and EGR and Cooler are in boxes so the flash is useless, and the recall is for the Bigger Boys!
