Just had mine done - no choice since the 4wd broke and they must do this recall if the truck is there. The weld is OK - on 2 sides of the nut - both nuts. However they didn't do it correctly, If the nut is loose they are supposed to remove and measure threads. The nut was loose (a good two full turns) and they never removed the drag link to check. Easy to tell since both nuts for the tie rod end type joints are still just as muddy as when I brought it in.......sigh.....
I asked who worked on it - the same guy who overfilled the trans by 2 qts when doing the solenoid pack recall.
