My 2018 is tight with just under 6k miles. I will watch it like a hawk until they come out with a different drag link. They aren't going to weld on my truck. I couldn't imagine that cluster of a mess. How many dealers actually have techs that can weld AND properly?? How many computers and electronics will they fry?

So basically, there's an actual part that can be replaced?!? WOW! I'm pissed off at FCA. Weld my truck and make an adjustment a PITA instead of replacing the part.

I want them to replace the whole part! Not weld some BS on mine.
From what my dealer told me this morning is the welding is a temporary fix until they come up with a permanent one. Like I said a couple posts up, for whatever reason only the 17's and 18's get welded. They didn't weld my 16 when they did the U53 and U74 recalls. She had no clue when the V06 part(s) will be available.

Everything is tight on my 17, and I marked it with a paint pen so I can monitor for any movement. I am also waiting till a real fix is released, no welding on my truck.

comrades - had my 18 2500 in today for 2 recalls. the service rep told me that the welding is just temporary until they come out with another recall to replace the component. just passing along what i was told. thats all. cheers comrades!

My 15 Drw has 83,700 , 2 alignments, and lots of towing heavy, and 4 years of mountain roads. I also need 4wd just to getup to our Cabin/House. With all that said, the lock nuts are tight. Ain't no way their touching my pickup.

As I said twice earlier, that is exactly what my dealer told me this morning. But for whatever reason, they are welding the nuts on the 17's and 18's, but not 14's to 16's.
nice to hear at least 2 dealers told us all the same thing. true or not, no idea...have to wait by the mailbox for the next recall letter to verify our info. cheers comrades!

post removed. My 2013 2500 has the old frame. So i am not (truck is not) part of the recall

In Oct. last year I discovered the drivers side lock nut was finger loose while doing a fuel filter change. I tightened it the best I could with a couple of giant adjustable wrenches. The next week the truck went to the dealer for tires and alignment (45k miles) and I asked that they check for loose nuts. I've since put another 10k miles of towing on the truck and the nuts are still tight.

Web site says repair parts are available but I think I'll wait a couple of months and see how this shakes out.

Thats odd, when I punch in my VIN then the VO6 it comes up with PAGE NOT FOUND. Although last week it did say parts were available, but two dealers told me they are not available. Including the one I took my truck to yesterday and another I called today.

I made an appointment for the recall, dealer called to cancel appointment "until parts available". According to the Rev 1 of the recall procedure they would only need "parts" if the A checks leads to B checks and the B checks show insufficient thread engagement.

So I wonder if they are expecting insufficient thread engagement and therefore are unwilling to take a truck into their shop until they have the -AB suffix (revised) draglink on hand. This might be out of concern that they would end up paying for a loaner while they waited for parts.

Of course in the mean time *nothing* is being done by FCA or their dealers until the parts are available. (Maybe June according to dealer!) .

NHTSA knows about the new part. It is noted in this document. If the welding is only a stop gap measure until they can build enough on the new style ones, then it may be OK. That's two trips to the dealer however. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2019/RCLRPT-19V021-8787.PDF

Seems like dealers are telling customers that this weldment "fix" is temporary; "until the parts are available".

But I read the recall procedure carefully and once the welding is done the recall is "accomplished" and FCA's records are updated to say that the recall is done.

So *maybe* they plan an additional recall with new notifications.
Or maybe the dealers are just making an ad-lib answer to a customers that says " I don't want this welding done to my truck"

Has ANYONE seen ANYTHING in writing from FCA or NHTSA that says that the draglink WILL eventually be replaced with the -AB part when that part is available?
