Heavy girl!
GVWR is pretty useless on these trucks thou.
"Front axle was 5140 and rear axle was 3760"
My truck ready to tow with wife and about 1/2 tank fuel
Front axle 5,480 and rear axle 3,920#. Dang you really have the bed loaded since you are only 160# less on your rear axle than I am. My numbers are from the Highway DOT scales.
I am one that does not worry about GVWR, however I am licensed for 12K in the State of Washington vs the 11,700 manufactures GVWR. So I should stay under that or license for 14K. SNOKING
I'd go to 14K. Isn't the long bed GVWR on that truck over 12K? Same axle/tire combo right?
Idaho does GCW for registration, but I max it at 26K so I don't ever have to worry about the legal side of it. I can break 12K GVW but its not too common, but I am generally over 11K when headed camping.
Short bed may put more cab weight on the rear axle.
Rear box:
2 full sets of Golf cubs and box are not that much more than the missing tail gate.
Hitch and picture frame
270 pounds
From box.
Honda eu1000i and a gallon gas can
Small pancake compressor
RC batteries in ammo can
Two tool bags.
4T jack
Misc boxes of tools power tools and air staplers.
Rebar stakes for awning and giant RR tie nails
Star wrench
You name it - the box is pretty full.
Under rear seat
Another 4K jack
Spare fuel filters
Also remember your rear is being held up by air!!!!
Pretty snowy on the Siskiyou's this morning! Next week at this time we will be going over or around!
SNOKING
Snoking, what size tires do you have 18's or 20's?
If 20's, what's do you run for tire pressure under normal unloaded weight?
SNOKING per your front axle weight using the weight/inflation chart are you 10psi more than the chart suggests?
Correct, as Barry Smith(Capriracer/tire expert/tire blogger) often posts, charts indicate the minimum inflation for a given load! Front end would get mushy with 50 lbs inflation.
Mileage is around 12MPG at 60-63 MPH with combine 22k weight.
Well we did 440 miles today to Winchester Bay on the Oregon Coast. Mileage is around 12MPG at 60-63 MPH with combine 22k weight. No traffic issues in Seattle or Portland.
Thinking maybe old Blue's Exhaust Brake word better than Cherry's.
Also Old Blue may have run off and hide from Cherry's torque management. Did I enjoy the first long tow? You bet! Snoking
Lock out 6th and try it. With 3.42's your exhaust brake and power will be down at 60-63 mph in 6th. Your mileage is good with that weight and wind resistance.
