I'm getting a new stage 3 Snow water/meth kit today and have some questions. I've been researching W/M searching through posts and found that some guys (powerestroke) are warning of backing the timing out when using it. So how do our motors compare when tuning. I'm running a Smarty at Lvl 7, TQ 3, Timing 2, Rail psi stock, wastegate stock. EGT's get to around 1400-50 by 80 mph so I need to bump up my waste gate to 35 ish. Any advice is appreciated as I'm new to meth and don't want to screw anything up. Thanks.

The guys at Snow are great to work with I would call them and tell them what you have added to your truck.

Stock. I may need to start a new thread because my Glacier intake won't work with the Snow kit. The Power Flo intake has 4 1/4in ports and Snow has 1/8in nozzles, any ideas?

Often you can get a reducer bushing from the loacl hardware store that will take a 1/4 NPt to a 1/8-27 NPT. The thing to make sure of is that the tip of the nozzle is flush with the inside surface or protruding slightly. Otherwise it is possible to have a obstructed spray pattern which will really hinder the system's effectiveness.

Tried the reducer route and the tip is not even close to airflow- 1in. So I'm awaiting a cfm with ports to install. Thanks.

Because it has 4 plugs in the back already and I want a cleaner install than cobbling in 2 more. Also the pad where the 4 plugs are won't have enough room for the meth and the unit is made of tubing so not enough material to tap.

I see your point, sounds like a different unit might be the way to go.

Two points though:

1) We often put the nozzles on the intercooler pipe pre-intake, sometimes right after the IC. There is enough velocity and we atomize well enough that you will get good distribution that way.

2) I had a very cheapo-depot set of intercooler pipes on my last project, and could only get perhaps three threads on there with an 1/8"-27 tap. I tested it to 30 psig and had 0 leaks. So as long as you dont over tap, often you can go right into a thin wall pipe.

In hindsight I may have tried that but I already ordered a CFM and did notice a bit quicker spoolup with a aftermarket intake. So I'll let everyone know how it goes next week with the install. Thanks.
