Hello all. I look forward to reading all of your posts on our trucks. I am new to the diesel and pickup market. Here is a little about my truck...

I have never owned a pickup before and owned a Subaru WRX before this. I had put on 50K miles in 2 years and I might start averaging 30K a year. My commute alone puts on 20K a year. I bought a diesel because of how long the engines are supposed to last. I am pretty sure the rest of the truck will fall apart before the Cummins does :). I also just got an 02 Triumph Thunderbird which I put in the bed when I do a little traveling for quick runs in the country on it.

Basically my vehicle is a commuter for me and I hope it lasts a long time. I have seen MPG posts and so far I am averaging ~18. 5mpg now with 5K miles on the odometer.

Anyway this is my story and I hope to learn a lot about this truck and enjoy it to the fullest!

more than likely the body will be shot way before the engine. this engine will get you to 500K just commuting may have to get a fuel pump somwhere along the line.

things to check now

1. rear and front axle levels 75w-90syn, 1/2 ratchet if low fill to the bottom of hole. mine used 3/4 in rear 1/4 in front

2. cracked alternator bracket there will be a hairline crack right in the bend on the top of the bracket(mine is getting fixed today)

3add in your signature by using the control panel

4dont forget to use the search mode and look at the sticky posts this will save all of us some work.

welcome:)
