Since I needed new skins on the back of the D250, and I didn't have the $$$$ to convert to Ricksons; I had my local shop install some new 235/85R/16's load range E. Driving home when the truck was accelerating past 45mph, the whole back of the truck started to sway; like there was an improperly loaded trailer back there. Got home, checked lugs they were fien. Took it back to the tire shop and the took it for a ride. The owner couldn't believe how bad it was. It appears I got a defective tir from the mfg. New one will be here monday.

Man, that sounds scarey! would never have expected to have a problem like that with todays tires. Especially after the Firestone problem a few years back. :--)

What was the brand? If you don't want to post it here, how bout sending me a message.

At least it was a company that usually gives good service. I have their tires on my company truck and have had great luck with them. I put them on because I travel al over the western half of the US and they are usually found just about everywhere.

I'm partial to BFG and Wild Country. Right now I'm running WC XTX's and they are awesome! :D I've run the TXR before, but I wanted longer tread wear so I went to the XTX.

When I lift my truck this summer, I'll probably go to the RVT.

Oh no, how much you gonna lift it? It looks silly enough with a flatbed and SRW (I've never cared for that look). I may have to swap beds with ya, esp if you go hog wild with huge tires- have the rear fenders already cut out for ya. ;)

If it looks like I'll be here through spring, I'm gonna have to get some mud tires for my one wheel drive. Any suggestions?

banzitoyota- glad you got your problem fixed. I've had less than good luck with tire shops in general.
