I'm starting to look at new tires to replace the stock michelins. So far im leaning towards the baja claws from mickey thompson. What do i need to know? What about tire wear? My michelins are half gone at 21,000 but after almost getting stuck in a muddy field after watching two chevys have no problems i decided i need something more aggressive. My truck is not lifted and is mostly a road driven truck. Any advice is appreciated.

had me a set of MT BAHA (somethings) years ago on a furd 4X4--they only lasted about 15,000 miles and were the NOISIEST tires I've ever heard on the street---Oh yaa, was just about impossible to get stuck offroad-----

cheers,

jerry

Look at the MT/Rs. They are great in mud and not much noisier on the asphalt than the stock Michelins. I've got 10,000 miles on mine and their worn less than the Michelins at 4,000 miles.

Quite honestly I dunno if tread noise is an issue.

I run 6 Bf Goodrich 33 inch Mud terrains and I cant hear them if I tried ... ... The Cummins is still louder. Yeah in a gasser maybe or even an 03 CTD.

Depends.....

It all depends on what you want out of your tires. I like the Goodyear MTR's, I run them on my Jeep, great off road and good on road wear. Just a little more expensive. If you want something that will keep you from getting stuck, try a hovercraft! I run BFG AT/KO's on my 01 2500 CTD, but I also do around 1k miles a week on the highway...
