I just recently purchased a 2001. 5 SLT 4X4 Quad cab with auto and 3. 54 gears and plan on doing a few mods. My previous truck was a 1995 Ford F350 4x4 CC with a full banks kit and some fuel tweaking.

I really like the new truck better but it bounces too much( shock valving seems wrong) and lacks my old trucks power. Near me there is a hill with a good 2 mile long grade. The Dodge can barely keep going 70 (I am still passing people) where as the old truck topped out at 90-95. So here is the plan and let me know if you would recommend anything differant.

Preturbo Pyrometer, Boost, Fuel pressure and Trans temp guages.

D25 coils, RS9000 shocks and undecided on control arms

Custom trac bar

Remove muffler

PDR HX40 16 sq cm turbo

Edge Comp, possibly drag model

Replace banjo bolts

Relocated lift Pump

DD2's or 3's.

Scotty 2 intake

DTT or ATS transmission

The truck will be used mainly as a daily driver but will also be used for towing up to 9000lbs anywhere from the humid Texas coast to going over some of the nastier passes in Colorado.

The truck currently has 60,000 miles. Should I get a torque converter and valve body for my current transmission or get a new prepped one for the setup I will be running?

Thanks in advance,

Eric

:Edited for a less buisy post

It is close to my setup.

I would absolutly ditch the banjo idea and replace the tired fuel system alltogether. I run a Pe 4200 with -8An lines and never find the vp44 starved for fuel (Even with the box on kill I can pull down to 14 psi) The 3's and 40 is a bit laggy for towing but if daily driving outweighs towing then do not worry.

Smoky yes even light footed on hazy hot days (Today I blacked out rt 136 for no apparent reason just toodlin along with the temps in the low 90's and huuuuumiiiiid) but again if that is no concern than A+

The Box issue ..... Hmmm Me personally I would go with something with adjustability (More so with egt defuel , power delivery , and sofourth) I run a Blue chip premium for that purpose but to each his own.

If you are set and straight turbo wise then go with a PDR 40! I had a PDR 35 and now run a PDR 40 and the difference between the pdr's is amazing in terms of faster spool VS their stock counterparts.

I myself need some DT stuff (Control arms and track bar as the arms are short and the track bar ... ... . well it's the stock cruddy track-wherever-the-truck-feels-like-going-bar. )

It sounds as if you might be down on power now. Any chance you have checked out your fuel pressure? Could be your lift pump is toast. I like your upgrade plans but if you are gonna tow you may want to check out TST's P-Max3 it has 10 power levels and get gauges out the wazzo.
