I just recently purchased a 2001. 5 SLT 4X4 Quad cab with auto and 3. 54 gears and plan on doing a few mods. My previous truck was a 1995 Ford F350 4x4 CC with a full banks kit and some fuel tweaking.
I really like the new truck better but it bounces too much( shock valving seems wrong) and lacks my old trucks power. Near me there is a hill with a good 2 mile long grade. The Dodge can barely keep going 70 (I am still passing people) where as the old truck topped out at 90-95. So here is the plan and let me know if you would recommend anything differant.
Preturbo Pyrometer, Boost, Fuel pressure and Trans temp guages.
D25 coils, RS9000 shocks and undecided on control arms
Custom trac bar
Remove muffler
PDR HX40 16 sq cm turbo
Edge Comp, possibly drag model
Replace banjo bolts
Relocated lift Pump
DD2's or 3's.
Scotty 2 intake
DTT or ATS transmission
The truck will be used mainly as a daily driver but will also be used for towing up to 9000lbs anywhere from the humid Texas coast to going over some of the nastier passes in Colorado.
The truck currently has 60,000 miles. Should I get a torque converter and valve body for my current transmission or get a new prepped one for the setup I will be running?
Thanks in advance,
Eric
