Probably some left over oil in the pan as said above next time they get three gallon jugs with a quart misiing. That should solve the problem. Ha ha

Jiffy Lube will not use my Amsoil severe duty gear grease to change the differentials front and rear. Said it voids the warranty. I didn’t ask them who’s warranty. But they will use their Pensoil very strange

Tell them BS as I have had Dodge dealers put Amsoil in my 06 diff's during warranty period without batting an eye, I think they just want you to but their oil so they cam make more $$$ from you...

As long as it meets the spec you can use anything you want. I.E. you can't use GL4 if Gl5 is called for but you can use any brand of GL5 you want. Remind them that Magnuson-Moss Act says they are full of crap.

Find a different shop, preferably one that’s not a nationwide one. That’s not an uncommon thing for big chains.

The dealer put a 3k sticker for service on my new truck. I wonder if that’s standard?

I had my local dealer put a 1 year oil change sticker with no miles listed on my 2006, when asked was told because I was synthetic oil so I'm not surprised the grease monkey put a 3K sticker on it as they most likely are not trained to know diesel engines have a longer OCI then gas engines, around here your lucky if they can speak English yet they have them working on on some of the work truck that cost over 90K...

My dealer says 10 k break in on the engine. I changed at 3k because I wanted a better oil and filter and to get rid of the major break in debris also the differential will be changed. I want the good stuff in doing a10-12 mile 2 month trip.

I’m hauling 3000 plus pounds maybe 3500 pounds. I think it’s worth it in the long run

Having weight in the bed and doing a long travel is a very good way to break in your engine, my 06 the wife at 1500 mile on the OD put 1800 LB in the bed an took it for a 33 hour non stop drive except for food and fuel from IA to OR and when we returned home 5 days later we did the same. I learned to do break ins this way when I drove OTH, our head mechanic said the best way to break in a diesel engine was to load the truck to max weight (most of our truck could haul 101 to 105K) an work the engine during its first 5K and we never had one fail during break in...

Camper goes on soon. Maybe another 6 weeks. Spring begins here then. Some fishing trips and 4 w with the grand kids then the big trip. By November it will be well broke in but not broken I hope
