New Truck???

Sorry RJOL, I thought you bought it off the lot, didn't realize you ordered it. My last two CTD's I ordered as it was really hard to find the right combo on the lots. Don't get me wrong, I like the looks of the 4x4's but I don't take mine off-road ever and I don't tow a boat, so for me, a 2wd was a no-brainer. I also like the looks of darker colored vehicles and have owned two black vehicles, I just don't want all the extra upkeep a darker vehicle demands to keep it looking good, my uncle actually just bought the same color you ordered - nice choice! You will really like the 3g trucks, quite an improvement over the 2g's in several areas.

Believe me... I was in no way offended. Just thought I'd pass on my thought process for others that might be looking...

I would definitely have to do an axle flip on my fifth wheel to use this setup.

A flatbed will works wonders. Plus is more utilitarian - imho.

Matter of opinion. With the 2x4 you get rack & pinion steering versus recirculating ball, less maintenance, less initial truck cost, better fuel economy and you don't have to flip your axles on the 5vr. Now, with that being said, IF you need a 4x4 for weather or off-road that is a different story. If weather is not a factor, you don't go off-road and you don't pull a boat up a wet ramp, there IS no need for a 4x4 IMHO.

Thanks for the reminder... Got stuck pulling my brothers boat out of the water, going up the so called "boat ramp. " Had some gravel under the tires and they just spun. Slipped it into 4WD and pulled right out...

Hey - I don't want to turn this into a 2x4 vs 4x4 debate, if your happy with 4x4, i'm happy for you. 2x4 works great for me and I guess I am in a minority that DOES NOT want a 4x4 for the reasons I mentioned above. As far as the resale, in certain markets the 4x4 may bring in more (it also costs more, burns more fuel and has more maintenance), but in my market, the used 2x4's get snapped up very quickley because they are rare on a dealers lot, where as they usually have a bunch of used 4x4's.

YOu will have a better ride and better towing ability with the 4X2, and still make it 80% of the places the other gusy go anyway. I live in Wisconsin and drive 4x2 ALL YEAR. yOU DEFINITELY WANT THE ANTI SPIN DIFFERENTIAL regardless of the drive train, and the navigational system is very nice, but to be honest. ( and I sell them) I would buy what i have (Dell Axim with Pharos software) or a magellan. buy the factory nav and you can never upgrade your stereo without throwing away a 1200 dollar toy. Wont make the wife happy, trust me.
