1) If it's not a Cummins I don't want it! (remember they make more 200+hp engines than all the others combined... )
2) I have always like Chrysler products but I would have bought a Toyota if I had to buy a gas burner. You see, there isn't another diesel I would consider other than a Cummins.
3) I don't like Ford and I don't like Chevy.
Where else can it go? It's too heavy for anything Toyota knows how to make. I'll keep my 2001 Qcab ETH/DEE!

3. I bought Dodge for the solid axeles and the better ergonomics/less truck like interior better rear seat.

This was my first new chrysler product and I expect rock solid reliability from my cars. Similar to what Honda/Toyota offer. Both are built in the USA with US labor and almost 50% US content. I understand that Cummins is a great engine and I expect no problems with it. Certainly have no complaints as of now 1300 miles.

1. Care - Performance is only one part of the equation. Ease of repair, cost of repair, service life, reputation, reliability, support network, availability of parts, and ease of power enhancement all figure into the desirability of an engine. The Cummins B is tough to beat by these criteria.

2. Cummins fan. If Ford pickups had the Cummins B in 1994, I would still be driving Fords. I had no experience with Dodge before buying my Ram to get the engine. Sue stayed with the Ram partly for the truck, mostly for the engine (she has been brainwashed by the TDR rallies). Face it, the Navistar and Chevy owners do not have the same rabid enthusiasm (yes - faoming at the mouth fervor) that owners of the Cummins engine do. This B crowd is almost like a religious cult #ad


3. Follow the Cummins B. I would stay with the B if possible. Cummins will soon have a new engine to replace the B, which may or may not be superior to another diesel engine, time will tell. A new Cummins engine would have to be evaluated on its own merits, but the company name alone puts it in the running.
