Hey guys, I just got done installing a 0-60 and egt guage from DiPricol. Both guages light up and the egt works great but i cant get a boost reading from the boost guage. i tee-ed into the vacuum line that runs along the firewall the entire width of the engine bay. There is a strong vacuum signal coming from this line, is it possible that it is a vacuum only line? I took the boost guage line free and blew into it which showed a pound or two on the guage, so i know the boost guage line is not kinked. Any other lines would you guys suggest I use or any other suggestions? Thank you in advance for your input.

Boost and vacuum are two different horses. What you teed into is a vacuum supply, which reads in inches. You need to hook your boost gauge to a fitting on the intake manifold. On mine, I had to remove a pipe plug and install the fitting that came with the gauge. Find the correct connection and you will be fine.

Ok I have looked all over the intake manifold for a boost line and I cant find one. Am I retarded or what?? Can someone describe exactly where to look or maybe show me a picture? Thnx again.

Hi AMcKee, sorry you haven't been given very clear directions.

There are a couple of places you can tap into the intake system to be able to read boost. Some people drill a hole and tap the intake horn which feeds into the intake manifold, and tap it for 1/8" pipe thread. Then run your boost line from that.

Piers Diesel sells a "boost bolt" which is a special bolt with a hole in the center which you use to replace one of the bolts holding the intake plate down. The intake place runs along on the driver's side and has several bolts around the perimeter. Take one of those out and put the boost bolt in and it's threaded on top so you can connect your boost line.

Hope this is a little clearer now.
