2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission No Cruise Control on 02

I have no cruise control, It was working fine then just out of the blue nothing not even the light in the dash will come on. The only code present is p1596. not sure if this is related or not. No other problems or symptoms ect related to a clock spring.



Any thoughts?

I have checked the connections and wiring at the control module and all look well there. I can't seem to find which fuse feeds the circuit or where it gets its power from. Anyone here that knows?

Years back, my clockspring took a dump and the cc didn't work.

That P1596 is definitely related.



See the attached troubleshooting steps. Anywhere it says to use a DRBIII, in most cases you can simply substitute your favorite multimeter.

well was it your clock spring ?? my horn wont work in the position i drive in,,only when i move the tilt,,,the c c was the same way it ha s now stopped completlety,,who has the parts?? thanks in advance

When cruise went out on mine, the vacuum line that goes by the drivers side battery had corroded. Spliced a new piece in and works good. If all else fails you could check that out

fstfish66, since it seems things don't work with your tilt steering wheel check out any connector on the steering column/shaft. If you have connector on column tilting the steering wheel can and has pulled wires out of the connector.
