Just for grins freind, how far is your dealership????
:-laf Don't blame Dodge because you live in the boonies... ... ... . plan ahead. Inconsequential damages and expenses are never covered in any warranties. You buy a high tech vehicle you need to remember you will need out side help.
Dont tell me not to blame Dodge, they are to blame, most have no idea what it is like where most of these trucks used to work and be serviced in south texas, we are orphans with ignorant mechanics at dealership with no 6. 7 special training!! Facts are 5 dealerships closed where i live and work the truck, the truck was actually sold to me with a out of date flash, then i try to buy oil filters and oil for the truck at an competivite price, none available, my truck sucks due to the crappy 6. 7 that still is not as advertised on the sticker milage, the parts availablity is a joke, i hauled my truck to a dealer who was left and there was a 2 to 3 week backlog of broken down and backordered 6. 7's in front of me. I had to waste my own time hauling the truck back to my place to get the water pump fixed i had to order out of town to get it running, when it was installed the truck still was broken, the belt had knocked off the sensor, another hauling trip to the dealer, I got the runnaround as usual, you replaced the water pump and we are not going to repalce the sensor under warranty. That sent the out of pocket repairs to way over $1000, ih yea, while it was down for the senor instal, it was backorded as well as the new belt!!!lol Now that is the real world down here and why these trucks are being traded off asap by most ranchers who can, there is no dealer suport and parts and they still want to charge you for a reflash. Engineers are to blame who unleashed this turd on the public before it was tested completely and parts ready to suport it. I wont ever buy another anything with the 6. 7. My horse vet has the exact same truck I have and he gets the same bs from the dealership, dont idle it more than 15 minutes at a time!!!LOL Anyway, he burned up the motor in it and is getting a new one, it went 80,000 and crankshaft seeized, sounds just like high dipstick with fuel in it i am worried about before the warranty goes out.

Yeah, you're right. Dodge is responsible because AutoZone and OReilly's don't stock off brand no name filters for your truck. Dodge is responsible because the independently owned and managed Dodge dealers where you live can't please you. Your truck won't meet the non-existent fuel mileage posted on your MSRP sticker apparently driving around at slow speed on ranch roads in first and second gear. It was Dodge's fault that you didn't call a dealer for a service appointment. It was Dodge's fault that you or some amateur screwed up the serpentine belt when installing an aftermarket water pump. And it was clearly unfair that Dodge didn't reimburse you for your screw up. Sounds like everybody you come in contact with owes you something.
EB, who was an ollfield hotshotter has put over 200,000 miles on his 2007 with no problems, my 2008 has almost 60,000 troublefree miles, and countless others are troublefree or have had only turbo or EGR cleaning and a reflash done.
Do the courageous thing, run straight to the closest Ferd dealer and trade it for a really fine, troublefree truck. You'll feel better . . . and so will I.

I can't argue with much that Harvey said, however I feel the need to say that last week I called Geno's to order fuel filters. They had the Mopar ones, but not the cheaper Fleetgard ones. My local dealer ran out of the old filters before the new ones arrived too.
The fuel filter issue was a big deal caused by Dodge or Cummins or fleetgard or whoever. It's kinda hard to stockpile supplies when no one has any.
As for the rest of the saga... yeah that advertised mileage sure was misleading...
BTW, I hate my truck. I hate the transmission. I hate the EGR/DPF junk. And most of all, I hate the fuel filter. EPA is to blame for all of it, not Dodge.
Duh. That's the point I/we tried to make in reference to the original poster's claim that, "my truck sucks due to the crappy 6. 7 that still is not as advertised on the sticker milage,"Advertised Mileage???? There has never been a advertised fuel mileage estimate on the Dodge Ram Heavy Duty Pick-up or the Cab and Chassis.
