I owned a 93 dodge, in the winter the heater never got warm. sold that truck and now have a 97 and have the same problem, unless I am pulling the trailer it does not get warm. I work for the city and when I have to take the road tractor out it does not warm until you drive it.

so is this a symtom of diesel engines or do I have a problem? if its 20 degrees out how fast should the truck warm up? as fast as a gas engine?

Yep, I blocked mine out with good results.

Used to take FOREVER to even get a little heat in the cab.

And no, its not going to heat up like a gas motor, it'll take quite a bit longer.

What would be nice is a radiator shutter and shutter stat controller like early semi trucks have/had. Is there a kit for the Dodge? Not really an issue here in San Diego.
