Is it normal for some fuel to mix in with the oil? Last time I changed the oil I made double sure the oil was only in the middle of the safe zone on the dipstick. Checked today and it was over full. Drained about a half gallon to get the level back to the middle of the dipstick. :{

No it is not normal. Diesel is a lousy lubricant. You need to find out which injector is blowing by, could be one or more. Others with more info should chime in soon that have more knowledge on how to find out what is causing and how to locate the problem.

Hi,

My truck is a 2007. 5 2500 Laramie Megacab 4x4. Mileage has never been great; I am getting around 11-12 around town. On the freeway in So Cal the standard speed is 75 or higher unless you want to get run over, so highway mileage is all that much better.

You can take your truck to the dealer to make sure your injectors are good (piece of mind), but it's the nature of the 6. 7 and emissions. Mine goes from middle of safe zone to the top of the plastic within 4,000 miles. Has since new except for the brief 1,000+ miles of being deleted (DPF). Oil never raised during that time and slightly cleaner look.

Had the rising oil problem on my 2007. 5. Oil analysis confirmed that there was "excessive" fuel in oil (i. e. greater than 2%). Dodge has said that up to 5% is acceptable (redefined excessive). I fixed the problem on my 2009, I don't check the oil any more. :)
