(Unofficial) N.E.P.A. Chapter of the TDR Springtime Meet n’ Greet.

b. ferrara,

I didn't want to date myself here, but when I did my traveling to the city it was before "Guliani justice". It was before that kid got killed when he was being chased through Howard Beach.

It was probably even before Bernie Goetz.

I used to go to Queens all the time. Usually College Point.

And since it was so long, maybe I confused the expressways. Dunno.

But I remember the burned out cars. And cars that were missing rims and tires.

NYC wasn't so nice back then. Remember when that woman was savaged in Central Park?

Count me in! I know Mike. Not sure about the rest of you guys. So It's at Petro. What day and time?

ttbird, I looked on the Petro web site. That's the same one. It's just down the road from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport. Which is listed as being in Avoca.

If anyone takes the wrong exit you will probably find yourself at the airport. And that is at the top of the hill. It dead ends. Simply go downhill to find Petro's. You have to pass right by it.

Pittston/Avoca/Dupont all have borders in that area.

Hi ATVX4, welcome! Where are you at?

---------- ----------- ------------

Highfinance97 (Mike) introduced me to the mighty 12 valve yesterday.

(it was official club business, Cummins research ya' know)

I think that there's a problem with his truck though. Everywhere we went

the tires were burning off. You should get that throttle checked out Mike.

I think it sticks. :D

Someone brought up the issue of liability with they dyno and that the Petro Plaza might not approve.

Maybe we could have a clam bake/dyno day on private property. Provided that the portable dyno operator would be interested.

Anyway, here's a link to the "Avoca" Petro Stop for anyone interested:

Almost forgot. They have a scale for anyone that's curious about the weight of their truck.

Wow, I didn't know you were that close. I'm in Harding. I thought I was the odd man out until Mike checked in.

Know where the Army trucks are on 502?

So we have 3 locals. Anyone else?

Yes. I know the army trucks. I'm up by the fire house.

A Powerstroke is coming to the meet. I'm sure we'll take it easy on him. ;)

And a TDR lurker. Maybe we can convince him to join.

Let's make it official:

Petro's Truck Stop in Avoca/Dupont on January 7th at Noon.

I will be there early and late so that nobody is left out. The PSD guy won't be there until 3.

I will bring some tools just in case anyone needs them. I will be borrowing a cell phone. If anyone has trouble or gets lost call me.

I will have the number available soon.

Cameras and camcorders are encouraged.

Any other suggestions?

Tony
