I have dd1's and was running the EZ part of my comp. I was happy with the dd1's and EZ, and decided to tap the wire. Without the wire i owuld get heavy smoke at low boost, with a light haze at high boost. Well i tapped the wire and not really that impressed. Is it cause i have a 6 speed, that it doesn't seem that much faster? I can hit 38 lbs of boost and my clutch is barely enough, but i do not see any increase in boost in third and fourth gears to speak of. Am I missing something or do i have to load the truck to see the gains?

Are you sure you got a good connection when you pierced the pump wire?

Sometimes that is the problem... bad connection. I saw another post on this where there was clutch slippage, but the driver didn't realize it.

HTH.

If your not seeing much of a difference then there is a problem FOR SURE! Because the difference is like night and day. Make sure you check everything and if its still not working right then call edge.

Are you running a stock clutch?

I did not see a clutch mentioned in your sig. If so, it will not hold with a comp and DD1's. If you did not slip the clutch before the pump wire was hooked up, you probably are now. If you do not notice a difference between 1-5 then check your pump wire connection. Also, it takes a lot of fuel and power to get 38lbs of boost, (with the wastegate disabled I can only hit 30lbs). I would guess that you are slipping the clutch.

I ran my Comp for a few days without connecting the pump wire - ran great - but NOTHING like what it does WITH the wire connected! It's easy enough to go thru the different Comp ranges while in motion to test different levels of power... ;)

I have essentially the same setup as you (DD1's and a Comp on an ETH), and have been running around for some time without the pump wire tapped. This past weekend, I tapped the wire and there was a HUGE difference, both in power and smoke. Night and day differences. I suggest that you revisit the tap on pump wire.

I used the bluechip pump cover

I put the meter on and got 12. 33V when I tapped the wire, took it for a spin, not much change. Came back checked it out no voltage on pump again, did this 3 times, I guess I can recheck it again

Your pump cover is losing contact, I had the same thing happen with mine three times. In the end I have probably advanced the allen screw one full turn after I first got voltage on my tester. Also don't tighten the locknut to much it pulls the allen screw away from the pump wire if you crank it down to hard.
