Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Not my truck, still need help

OK, a friend of mine is having a problem with his 96 12v. I figure i'd describe the symptoms and see if I could get a bite. Thanks for reading ...



It's on a 3500 frame, dump body.



The engine idles very low. So low, in fact, that when stopped and turning and/or hitting the brakes, it just stalls. Any ideas?



Is there an idle adjustment on this year? If so, where?



It has 60,000 miles and he hasn't had any major services ... should he? Would that be the problem?
