My NV4500 took out 3rd on the countershaft. I will probably keep this transmission and rebuild it with a Torque King kit when I have more time to mess with it.
That being said, I am looking for a reman to get the truck back on the road. Who is a decent builder that can be trusted (and hopefully has a low core charge)? A fully splined mainshaft for 5th gear is a must. I can't find a lot of information about rebuilt manuals transmissions online, just a bunch of cheap Zumbrota and Allstate stuff I've never heard of.
Thanks for looking, MBanning

Dunno about the 4500, but I had mine rebuilt by Blumenthal,.. and it was good to go.. I know for the 5600 they have take out and extra parts to sell.

EDIT ( "mine" was a NV5600 )

Does it look like this:) Boosted launch in 3rd 4x4, I advised the customer not to do that:D You might try Standard Transmision in Ft. Worth.

Standard Transmission is my go to. Remember there is a HD and LD version of the NV4500. GMs and Dodge gassers had the light duty version.

I just rebuilt my NV4500 with a master rebuild kit from All State Gear, there was not catastrophic failure and wasn't too bad to do. If I did it again, there were quite a few parts that I wouldve replaced that were not in the "master" rebuild kit. Do your homework.
