I recently did the NV 4500 coversion on my 1993 D350 CC LB .

I did the clutch flywheel,new drive lines , joints the works , rear end !!!

was up on the rack for new shocks ... and found gear oil leaking form bellhouseing an rear seal!!!! is this a common problem with these trannies????

this is all brand new parts no used ones!!!! have just under 2300 miles on it !!!!

I see you didn't get any answers on your querry. But note that there were 71 lookers. I can't give you a definitive answer but I can say that the seals would not be supposed to leak. Period... on new equipment.

Perhaps getting it back to the top page will prompt an answer.

I have had several of these transmissions and 2 of them have leaked, but the one that didn't leaak lasted about 300,000 miles with no problems until the flywheel pilot bearing went bad. Yeah these transmissions can leak early on. Get the seal driver if you are going to put new ones in, as without it they will leak again.
 
You may want to try posting this in the second gen forum, you may have better luck. Just my 0. 02 cents.



Also, is it possible the seal was nicked in the installation?
