I know I am beating a dead horse, but it is so frustrating to spend $$$$$

and Time on two little gears in the speedo head to have it go 1/10th of a mile and quit. I picked up the repair info from a fellow 1st gen owner pic's and all,

and carefully followed the repair steps. I believe that the gears are installed correctly. I'm wondering if that small 20 tooth gear broke 1-tooth, and it just stopped right there... . Anybody got any ideas. . it sure would be apprecited.

I have never tried to repair mine. There is a few contacts in my binder that rebuilds them. If you'd like, I can look that info up and give you the contact(s) that I have. Or maybe take it back apart and try again.

This is what happens to me with stupid stuff like this. I'm pretty good at transmissions and injection pumps etc, but give me an instermentation panel and I will destroy it. I don't even attempt to replace a dark dash lamp. By the time I get it back into place, turn the lights on, two other functions will have given up. It simply is not worth it. And I hate plastic parts.

Thanks Greenleaf... I will get that sucker out of there again, and take another peak, but I ain't spending another penny on it (Speedo). If that gear is busted thats the way she

stays. I got a GPS for christmas from my better half, and that bad boy tracks all your miles, and thats all I need. I appreciated the offer for contacts. . folks on this site are sure helpful... best $35. 00 i ever spent. Happy new year to you & everybody.

I recieved a TomTom and also realized it has a speedo function. I'll never forget that as my wife keeps an eye on that for me. It flashes RED when you speed!! LOL
