Competition Carnage- Lost a Dana 80 yoke

The H-1 bulb is a style and it is available in different wattages. The Hella Euro Beaams are the 100 watt version as are the Hella 4000 pencil beams. I am not sure what the Warn lights are. Most legal lights are 55-60 watts. I have the Sport lights with 60-100 in the outer and 80-100 in the inner. I also have the Hella 4000 pencil beams mounted on the grill guard.

Aircraft landing lights

I have a pair of GE 250watt par 38 part#4313 aircraft landing lights.

Each one draws 21 amps so I have them on seperate relays. The book says they each make 2. 9 million candle power, so I've got 5. 8 million lumens total. The book says the 100watt lamps make 1. 1 million but it was only about $10 more per bulb for the 250watt so I got them instead. :D

Happy Bombing Eric.

I bet those lights heat up pretty fast and if you ever wanted a dead battery just leave them on for about 5 min without the alternator turning... .

That bright... man o man... .

Kinda like a sunrise at night roadhawg?

Please excuse my mistake!

The lights are par 36 not 38.

Yes they do get very hot but I try not to use them unless I'm moving :D

Here in oregon we have areas where the canopy grows so thick that even in broad daylight it is still dark, add rain and the water on everything absorbs the light so you see less reflected light (this is how I justify having this much light)Oo.

Funny my buddys don't seem to need lights like this and they allways want me to go first!:p

Happy bombing.

I had a pair of Hella 2000 on my truck before the accident. They worked great, but not made anymore. I now have the PIAA's 80XT. They throw a real nice pattern. The Hella's would shine a longer distance, but the PIAA's were brighter close up and to the sides. The Hella's were a driving light with 100w H1 bulbs. I had them wired to turn on with my high beams and off when on dim, the way driving lights are supposed to work. I hate it when people have them on with the dims. I have the PIAA's wired the same way. I also have a switch so I can have them off with the high beams. Yes I use them on the road when there is no traffic. I turn them off when there is traffic. Also I don't use them when I inform someone they have the high beams on. I try to be respectfull of others and don't want to cause an accident because I blinded someone.

I had a set of landing light in the high beam spot on a Cadillac I had. If I for got to turn down the auto-dimmer it would start flashing the lights. too dark, oops too bright, too dark, oops too bright. Running along hwy 40 at 3:00am everyone would get out of the way.
