Competition Drag racing in ENNIS, TX Friday night

Competition Diesel Thunder in Spokane Wa.

I've camped up there a couple times at the state park. Didn't take my truck on the hill, but I did enjoy the Mac Dune rides! :D

Jeep Hauler

Like a couple others who posted, I use the truck to tow an off-road-only Jeep CJ-7 for wheelin'. I don't like the thought of risking my daily transportation on the trail. The types of wheelin' we do commonly leaves the Jeep broken after a weekend of rockcrawling, etc. It's nice to know at worst, I can winch the Jeep on the trailer and drive my truck home.

The truck does get put into 4WD regularly though. It gets me to work in the snow, goes out in the woods to cut firewood in the winter, pulls cars out of the ditch, and pulls the trailer/camper into backwoods camping spots. Some friends and I are heading for Haspin Acres in IN to wheel this weekend, and just getting the big-azz trailer to where we camp will most likely require locking the hubs...

Texas diesel..

I just got around to looking at this thread and saw your post re: can your truck make it from Lake Pleasant to Crown King. I can most assuredly tell you "yes" you can. I drive a 4x4 and live north of Crown King and have made that trip. Some of the 2 track is narrow and rocky, but it's doable. Try it next time you're out here

Crown King!!!!

I've been wanting to make the Crown King trip since I saw some pics of it on a Jeepers page. Any mines or anything of interest for history buffs or rock hounds?

Hyde,

Howdy from AZ!

Lessee, Crown King... 2 bars, a really good restaurant, a post office/general store and 4-5 really lazy dogs. Not much else.

BUT... if you're into 4 wheeling on 2 tracks or worse, not a bad way to spend a day. There are mines around, but I didn't/don't mess with them. Mostly vertical pits. Fall in;adios! Some housing around for those that want to REALLY get away from civilization, 1-2 hours for substantial groceries. Kind of a neat place. :)

Lots of history in the area: Bloody Basin, Horse thief Canyon, Indian stuff and REAL rugged country. Good deer hunting too:D

I've been to the east side of the road off of Bloody Basin Rd. and really like the area. My Uncle talked me out of going up that way the last couple of times I've been out there but I seem to have been stuck going out in the summer instead of winter. The lazy dogs was funny, makes me think of Happy Jack if you've ever been up there. I'll have to check on the mines and history in the area for a trip next time I'm up. Maybe I'll give you a call.
