Got my oil report today, said that My engine shows typical wear. The only average that I exceeded was iron - 33 vs. 23 for the average. Blackstone says that iron tends to track with miles. This change had 6,400 miles on it - they suggested that I do my next oil change at this interval. This bothers me because I use LE 15-40, in hopes of extending my intervals somewhat. Not much of an extension. BTW, the engine had almost 22,000 miles at time of analysis. Blackstone stated"Your oil was run 6,400 miles, a little longer than is usual for the type, and we found iron wear above average though not high enough to show a mechanical problem. " I didn't think this was a long interval.
I did do some heavy towing in the heat, up hills on this sample, so maybe this is normal. Just wanting to hear som thoughts that others may have. Thanks,
Craig
