My dealer said to push the pedal down 3 times, bend over and hand him my wallet. Actually they replaced my overhead and warning left town. I changed my filter at 3k and oil & filter at 6k. That is going to be my routine.

Changed my oil 900 miles ago. 'Oil Change Required' just last night. Perhaps I should start invoicing the EPA for all of these extra oil changes? And the extra fuel that's wasted on regenerating the DPF

Did you reset the reminder when you changed it 900 miles ago? How many miles total on your truck?

Ok, Reset the EVIC,
Will it also reset the oil sample results.
Every oil sample I have done, with each oil change, since the truck was new is coming back recommending an even shorter oil change interval as the excessive heat of the Agressive Active Regeneration is destroying the Viscosity then there is the matter of the heavy soot accumulation in the oil.

CUMMINZ you gave me a good laugh this morning, couldn't sleep nice wakeup. Question: when "oil change light" comes on is it 3 times with the key ON/OFF or gas pedal?

Turn the ignition on and without starting the engine press the throttle pedal completely down slowly three times within 10 seconds then turn the ignition off. The manual says to repeat the steps if it doesn't work the first time.

OK,THIS IS CRAZY! The light came on at 1200 mi. I reset it now it's back on at 2400 mi. What is going on with this truck? Now i'm thinking that maybe i should have kept the 05.

yall should buy the DPF Delete kit from H & S, I will have mine on the end of next week. no more cat, no more dpf, WORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! though it will still regen, just for ten mins or so, not for 30 mins.

my "change oil" message came on at 5100 miles, still havent changed it i have 5900 on it now. i will do it by saturday

:p

I read through the posts about the oil change required light on the 6. 7,many say that the dealer says to change the oil but what is every doing when it comes on at 1200 miles. I took delivery of my special order truck in july and dont know if the latest flash has been done. No problems so far but at 1200 miles on a diesel is absolutely insane.

My driving is mostly city with no idling or minimal. I reset the light and plan on changing it at 5000. Theres no way i'm changing my oil every 1200 miles. What is everyone else doing?
I have changed oil twice in 11,000 miles. Oil change reqd message appeared at about 3000 miles. Changed oil and reset. All of these miles except 1200 mi drive home from dealer are SOCAL around town. Message appeared again after a 6000 mile trip towing 10K at 10000 miles. Changed it and reset.

It likes highway miles and will allow long runs between changes but it does not like around town driving and requires changes much more frequently. I was amazed it allowed me to complete the long trip but requested an oil change two days after I returned home.

Overhead just come on telling me to change the oil. 3150 miles on the truck. I am thinking of going to the dealer and getting that $600 oil change deal, it comes out to 29 per oil change. If not, 69 per at the dealership I got the truck at. That is low on the miles, I changed my 03 5. 9 at 5000 to 7000 miles, Very easy driving on the 03.

This first 3100 miles on my 07. 5 has towing my camper, short trips. so I can see how computer say's change it. This weekend or next week day.

:{ can't be apart from my new truck, you think they will let me help out and hand them tools??:-laf:-{} don't think so.

Oil Change

Now have 11035 on the truck, While on a long trip this summer, oil change light came on at 4100 miles. I usually change my oil at 3000 to 3500 miles. I just figure oil is cheap and the truck was not. So if I change it alot it will be better for the engine, and gets me under the truck and in the engine compartment to check things out . Truck runs great no codes so far, pull the trailer like it wasen there. 27 foot Sunnybrook about 9500 loaded. not the same milage as the 96 but twice the hp. and torque.

I NEVER change my oil based on "miles" driven. I've been around heavy equipment all my life and hours are the way to go. 250 hours is my limit on standard oil and 400 hours is my limit on C-5 Synthetic oil. Do a run-down on your engine hours for the next oil change. I bet the computer will agree with me +/- 25 hours.

... ..... then again, I could be wrong.

Well I guess everyone can do as they please. I find that most of my miles are towing. The rest of my miles are just around town, when I don't use the car. I just think that changing the oil more than I have to is better. Like I said oil is cheep and the truck is not. Can you change it to much? I don't know just old school i guess. my 2 cents

... . so far i've logged 4500 mile on mine with about 400 of towing a 10k hi-profile 5'er... . no messages yet!!!!..... i'm keeping my eyes on it though... tom;)

I wonder if getting the G30 recall or the AU reflash will reset the oil change monitor ??

Mine has not asked for an oil change for 20,000kms ( 12,000 miles).

I changed it anyway, but will watch the over head !!
