That's the magic of Chinese knockoff stuff... looks the part, cost about half.. and usually fails spectacularly.

Why???
Millions of these filters sold every year, lots of money to be made producing and selling them.
As to them all looking so similar, they are built to the spec set forth by FCA, like most every other aftermarket replacement part made.
Well......according to Parker / RACOR...... they were the original supplier to RAM for the rear water separator filter, indicating to me that it is indeed unique to RAM for 2013 through 2018 MY 2500/3500/4500/5500 trucks. So if someone can do more than speculate if this filter is used on more than one application I would appreciate it.

Thank you GS!!! One would think it has a Patent.
Which flows perfectly due to the fact that the dual filter setup was introduced in the 2013 MY, which would translate that the above link I posted was published around 2014.That is also 7 year old information...not arguing at all, just saying.
I’ll patiently await your research showing where the PFF54529 unit is used outside of the 2013 through 2018 RAM 2500/3500/4500/5500 trucks.Sure does, but it also does not imply that 7 years later it is/was still exclusive to Ram trucks.
Mopar ,Fleetguard or Donaldson all good filters. What you really need is the filter cap off tool Amazon or Genos. After you spin the filter off you have to turn the filter sideways for removal. This $15 plug screws into the filter and you can pull it out no mess. Its a must have , I've used plastic bags what a mess get one these tools you won't regret it.Hi Guys will be doing first oil change on the beast . Should I be using the cummins stratapore or mopar? Who makes the mopar filters? Thanks. Hope this doesn't stir up a hornets nest.

I've never had one or used one and I never spill a drop of oil removing a full oil filter.
I don't do anything but unscrew the filter and lift it out, easy-peasy, no mess at all.
No, I didn't forget.did you forget to mention removing the air intake first?
No, I didn't forget.
Thought I'd run a cross reference search on the PFF54529 on Baldwin's website. They're very good about listing all applications on their filters. This is what I found. No other application listed except the '13 Ram.
