Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Oil Leak Help

My truck just started dripping oil. It looks like its coming from the plate mounted on the side of the block, where the oil filter attaches. It runs down the oil pan rails. The drip is on the left side of the block only. Has anyone had this problem?

my oil filter became loose for some reason and leaked as you describe the fan pushed the oil away from the filter and i could not tell where it was from. hth
