i have heard about 2" up, just enough so you can drop the pan and get your hand/wrench in the release the supply line, i have a diagram if you need it. josh
Only if you can't get your hand in there. In that case loosen the motor mounts and jack/lift the motor up a bit. The valve cover on the rear of the cowl will be the limiting factor.
Theoretically you don't even need to take off the pickup tube to change a gasket - only if you want to take the whole pan off (although it would be easier to thread in the new gasket with the tube out of the way).
My Pan Gasket Is Leaking And I Need To Replace It. They Claim The Newer Gaskets Are Made Of Better Material. Wondering If I Wanna Do It Or Have My Buddy That Works At Dodge Do It. He Does Some Work For Me But He Does It In My Garage.
