Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) oil presure guage went to zero

can anyone tell me why my oil pressure guage just stopped working and check guage light came on? I just changed oil the day before and truck is running good . It's a 2000 2500 with 180,000 on it. Im getting ready to take a long trip out west and would like to fix this before I leave.

Probably the oil pressure sensor. I would either replace it or put a manual gauge on to verify you've got adequate pressure before you drive it.

I had the same problem back when I had my 2001. Be careful about which oil pressure sensor that you bye. I believe you can get a direct replacement from Genos Garage. Some replacements are a switch instead of the sensor and require a reflash of the PCM. You do not want that.

What code? If you don't have scanner use the key trick. I was having somewhat the same thing chek engine and oil pressure dropping. The code was po237 map sensor low voltage. I pulled my boost fooler off end of trouble. So could be whatever is causing check light might be oil gauge problem.
