Any member experienced sludge in the diesel oil pan blocking the pickup tube?

Trying to figure out if that's my problem for my turbo failure and maybe I need to check it. Or the turbo just gave up from old age.

Thanks,

Tom

If you're using diesel rated oil and changing it on schedule or not abusing the heck out of it you should never have a sludge issue. Turbos however can die prematurely if not properly cooled down especially after working your truck hard.

An engine that does not completely warm up due to a defective thermostat and/or short trips can have a tendency to form sludge from moisture that collects in the oil.

Excessive heat can also cause sludge!

Is the engine running cold or overheating?

A coolant leak can also cause sludge and wipe out your bottom end.

Lastly are you using a quality diesel rated oil with reasonable oil change intervals?
