Hopefully I wont regret this, but tonight the muff/res. is coming off and I'm sticking a piece of straight pipe in... fingers crossed. Long trip planned next weekend.

I removed mine and like it without much better. I is a little louder driving normal. But a lot louder at full throttle. I think it sound great.

I pulled off mine two weeks ago. A little louder driving around town. I dont get on it if I see any cops but the sound is incredible. I took out the resinator also. Its a free breathing monster.

missing muff&res

I took mine off about three mo. after I bought the truck and I have to say that it's great and that I love it! I also installed dual stacks about three mo. ago and I love it even more. The truck is alot louder, but it isn't too bad in the cab with the windows up but what is the fun in that? Windows must be as far down as conditions permit. :D

Well... . the job was pretty easy. Piece of straight pipe, no more resonator, and no more muffler... .

I LIKE IT! :D

That's one bad sounding tune coming out the tail pipe!!!!

I get a little drone in the interior and the wife don't like it, but hey it's MY truck :)

I got 3. 5 pounds more boost too... . My buddy with a 351 Bronco couldn't keep up with me on the e-way... . it's definitely quicker.

If it bothers the wife too much I may put a straight through muffler on it... . But right now I doubt it!

Thanks for the tips guys!

Are you talking about the truck or the wife??

 :-laf :-laf :-laf

I straight-piped mine the same way you did and my wife actually likes it!! (Even said, "Gee,,,,,, I thought it would be louder") ,,, Man,,,, I love that woman! :D

I can't wait to pull the 5er and see what it sounds like when that Cummins is doing some real work. :D

To those of you with QC SB's, does the length of the exhaust system have *that* much to do with the sound?

I've been contemplating the removal of my resonator since I pulled the muffler off, but have been afraid of the dreaded drone problem. Does anyone running a true straight piped exhaust (no muffler AND no resonator) have a problem with droning?

I ask because my truck spends the majority of it's time at 1900-2200 rpm, which is the optimum place for drone to occur.

Thanks in advance.
