That is not so

While it is true that the factory suction tube is not the best it has been proven more than adequate when used with the AirDog. The AirDog engineers took into account the factory tube and made sure their product would not suffer adversely because of it. Don't know how, it just is. Putting a Vulcan draw straw in is mandatory if you are removing the in-tank pump (unless you have the factory module) and/or with certain aftermarket lift pumps. While you can install the Vulcan with the AirDog to me it is not worth the hassle of dropping the tank.

I am using a Preporator. The predicessor of the Airdog When I first installed it I had all sorts of driveability issues. Charlie Ekstam the inventor of the Preporator and the Airdog,We had many conversations about the problems. We finally solved the problem by opening up the line into the tank. It was his suggestion that the intank module was too restrictive.

Not surprised you had those issues with the Preporator, it was designed for much larger engines which also have larger suction tubes and supply lines from the factory. Glad Charlie got the problem solved for you. He then took the info gleaned from your experience and designed the AirDog with the Dodge factory components in mind. I stand by my statement that the AirDog performs to spec with the factory suction tube. I have a friend who used to work for Charlie and he knows the whole story of the AirDog.

That the stock fuel module will flow enough fuel with the Air dog to about 300hp IF! its in really good condition I stress the good condition,because it really is hard to test. Here lies the problem,diesel is unpredictable under a vacuum,it cavitates aerates and frothes, Low temperatures will aggrevate this issue. Diesel acts more predictably under pressure.

What I have found from my limited experience is that are differences in the modules over the years as well. On a buddies '99, we found steel fittings instead of plastic and were of a much larger inner diameter than my '02.



He gained some pressure or lost some vacuum as well. Gotta take that for what it's worth I guess.



I ran my stock module to over 400HP with the mechanical pump in place. I got a little more power once we quit pulling vacuum. ;)
