Paul,

Sorry to hear about your girl, as I know how important she was to you. Good luck on your new project as I figured it would take something like this to light the fire! Be good!

What do you mean Eric? I'm always good. :D ;)

Will try to get some pics of the 73 up this weekend. If you look in the conversions forum I posted some pictures when I bought it last year.

Got the police report today. The guy blew a . 191 but tested negative for drugs? Anyone know what a PBT test is? The way the dog hit on this guy I can't believe he hadn't had a couple of tokes recently. Going to see lawyer tomorrow, hopefully will be able to nail something of his to a tree.

Just got in from stripping out the cab of the crew cab. Will be taking it to the shop tomorrow night so I can use a lift to pick the cab off of the frame. Will be dropping it off to have the floors sand blasted on Saturday or Monday.

Time to get some sleep.

Burial is on on Monday

Finished dismantling the old girl today. All the none salvagable parts are loaded on the trailer awaiting the trip to the crusher on Monday:{ . Just posted powertrain in classifieds section, axles are gone. The old girl will be missed but surely not forgotten.

Rest in peace my true and faithful servent. May your soul live on in somebody elses project.

Paul,

First, I want to say how sorry I am that your truck got smashed, I know just how attached one can get to his vehicles. I had a 1983 VW Rabbit pickup that I bought 5 years ago, restored to mint perfection, got state inspected and put the plates on it. Less than 5 minutes into its maiden voyage, I was stopped, waiting to make a left hand turn onto a side street when I looked into the rearview and WHAM!! I got rearended by a car doing 60 mph or better. This pushed me into oncoming traffic where I got headoned by a car doing at least 50. Then I was hit by another car trying to avoid the first car. The truck was totalled. The car that rearended me had no insurance and dead tags, in fact the driver did not even speak the language. I was lucky to escape (once the FD pulled the steering column off my legs) with only a dislocated shoulder and facial cuts. So, as I say, I know how it hurts to lose a vehicle you loved.

After being involved in 5 bad accidents myself where I was along for the ride I can say I know what your going through and good luck. You got lucky. I hope you nail that little Bast-terd !

Hey! I want the window visors! Those chrome things that help keep rain out of your truck, with the windows cracked down just a bit!

Nate

Nate, your not the only one. They were on the trunk when I bought and I have no idea were the previous owner got them. I would like to get 2 pairs for the crew cab. These were the good ones that are actually attached to the door fram with screws. To bad I pretty much destroyed the passenger side one when I crawled out the window.
