Can anyone give me a definite answer on whether or not dodge makes a one piece to fit my truck? I have read every driveshaft thread i could find and still cant come up with a definitve answer. 2005 2500 QC LB 4X4 NV5600

dog house diesel

Go to doghousediesel.com and you will find what your are looking for. They are about $100 dollars cheaper than the dealer. I plan to get the one piece shaft in the near future.

Yes and no. You can get a 1 piece from Dodge (Part# 52123162-AA) but you'll have to get it shortened 1. 5".

I just did this very thing and it has worked out great. I'm going to do some towing this weekend and that will tell me if all the shutter and vibrations are gone but it seem very smooth so far.

BTW DC get $600 for the shaft and I paid $150 to shorten and balance it.

Am I looking at this right, if I get one from doghousediesel I will still have to have it shortened. They are saying direct replacement for a G56 I have the NV5600.

Is the part# 52123162-aa the correct part for a 2005 auto 4x4 with long bed quad cab. I contacted dealer in houston but they cannot confirm whether it will fit or not.

The above drive shaft will only fit the G56 manual or when shortened, the NV5600. The u joints are smaller on automatic drive lines. There should be one available for the auto, you might be lucky and it wouldn't need shortened, I don't know. If you do a forum search on 52123162, you should be able to pop up a prior post where the auto part # is mentioned. Good luck.

Here, I did it for you.

Thumbs up One Piece Driveshaft

Guess I get to be the test-mule for this. Just installed a one piece drive shaft for an 08' Megacab on my 06' 4x4,auto,Megacab. Truck has a little over 92k on it and was about due for u-joints. Figured I'd eliminate one u-joint and the carrier bearing. Part# 52123220-AB list: $602, got it for: $430 plus shipping from MOPAR4LESS. Tools needed: ratchet, couple extensions, 15mm socket, cheater- pipe. Make sure to block your tires. Also remove {4 bolts} and leave off the bracket that holds the carrier bearing to the frame. Took it out on the highway, hit the speed limiter a couple of times { Smarty Jr. on level 2 }. Everything is fine! Gotta haul some calves to Dalhart or Clovis in the next couple of weeks. I will keep everyone posted on it.

I bought one from Doghouse Diesel a few weeks ago. Shipped to my door in 2 days, had it shortened and balanced the same day and was in the truck the next night. Rich at Dog house is awesome to deal with and will get you what you need. The drive shafts for the NV5600's have to be shortened. Not really a big deal, they come out of the box with dang near 50 weights so after being shortened a good shop will re-balance it cleaner and you'll be on the road.

Like said above NV5600 needs to be shortened. They do not make an OEM 1 pc for the NV5600. Had one made for mine at Ronnie's in Houston a lil over $800.
