Open diff blues

Question, When i bought my truck there was one thing I did not like, thats it lacks posi, limited slip. I got a very good price on it, the dealer grabbed an invoice for the same truck with a hemi, so I need not say more. Has anyone else done this swap, I am looking for all the info I can get. Thanks for your help!

I found a factory AAM unit at ringpinion. biz. I don't know if it is a good unit or not? I am going to check with my dealer to see what the installed cost would be.

i saw a new factory one on ebay a few weeks back for like $500...

if you look at the FSM, the ring/pinion install & setup isn't too hard [no shims on the carrier bearings, just adjuster nuts for preload]

Ther are alot of guys out there that are not happy with the limited slip AAM. Wish somebody made a 2 speed rearend

Also the Cheby dealer may have something that fits, but different than Dodge, and maybe less $$$.

No better than it works i wouldn't wasted my time and $ to put it in.

I'm actually pretty satisfied with the AAM gear type torque biasing differential. I run a fair amount off road and can verify 2 contact patches in sloppy conditions. I understand that the 'factory' can set them up with different 'biasing factors'... ie, quicker/more positive lock up. Wish we had a contact at AAM... .
