Usually my overhead display is spot on. However I have noticed three times now, when I shut off the truck in a drive through and have restarted the temp will show -40* F. I originally thought this was because the prob must be close to the AC. However the last two times I don't even have the vent on. Has anyone ever experienced this. Took 10 minutes driving at 60 for it to warm back up to 59.

Are your dome lights starting to turn off faster as well??

The two symptoms (-40 below on start-up and shortened dome light time) seem to occur at about the same time on my '06 and a battery disconnect for 10-15 minutes will cure both issues. I have had to "Reboot" my truck 3 times in 100,000 miles to correct things. I had a reflash done once but it did not make any difference.

A lot of people disconnect the batteries but I don't do that, I simply unhook the red wire from the side of the PDM right in front of the battery on the left side. That kills the cab feed and produces the same result as messing around with two batteries.

Just take care not to touch the wire or the wrench to any metal. :{

I Had the same issue with my 06 model... the software update seems to have fixed mine. Guess it was going on 2 years ago when the update was done. Hasnt had an issue since.

Be thankful it wasn't really -40 as that is REEEEEEAL COLD. Been they done that. -40 is the same on both F and C scales. Shadrach

I have a similar problem on my 03. My temps read either -40 or 130. I see this TSB is for the 06 truck. Any thoughts on why this would happen on an 03?

Thanks
