I was all set to get a set of Mopar running boards, but they been discontinued. I'm looking at the black owens aluminum ones JCW has on sale. Any opinions or recomedations?

Thanks!

I did buy these on sale from JCW. The installation is straight forward & easy. Nice splash protection, the truck stays cleaner longer :) The bed steps had a lot of give in the mounting brackets, so I added a diagnal brace to the frame that I made from some scrap 3/4" angle iron. They are very ridgid now even with my 230lbs on them. For <$200 wheelwell to wheelwell I'm very happy with them.

As pointed out above most mass produced running boards that I looked at left a lot to be desired. What bkroupa did was a great idea and would save a chunck of money over buying a higher end version of running boards. It is your best bet if you want something that is fairly inexpensive and will last.

I bit the bullet and bought Tough Country running boards. Solid steel construction, very heavy duty and big solid braces. Downside is that they are expensive. I got them through a group buy here and I think they were still $575?? (I think). But they will last the life of the truck. 5 full size adults could stand on one side and it would make no difference.

good luck!
