Got code P00AF today, turbocharger boost control module performance. I'm at 63,000 miles so out of basic warranty but still in 100K powertrain. Anybody know if this is covered? I did some searching around and seems as if some dealers are covering it as a bad turbo and replacing it, and others are saying that the actuator is bad but that is not covered.

Well technically it is the actuator and is serviced by itself without replacing the turbo. But since it controls the function of the turbo and is bolted to it, it's covered. I just made up a 2016 vin to check, but every truck should be the same.

i just wanted to update this thread in case anybody does a search for the code in the future. Carson City Dodge (Nevada) replaced the turbo actuator under warranty (actuator only, not the turbo/actuator).

My 2014 is currently at my dealer for the turbo actuator. Truck is at 68,000 and under 5 years old. On this model, the Turbo Actuator has a 5 year / 50,000 warranty.
Found this out while trying to negotiate with FCA.
Waiting on a decision, expecting an answer later today.

If it’s not covered by warranty, you might want to consider having an independent shop do the repair.

I just made up another 2014 VIN, but it was less than 5 years old. So it looks like different warranty for 2014 than 2016.
