Hi folks, I know this has been discussed before, but here it is again. I am getting ready for another Kalifornia smog check so I took off my DDTTPM (Edge EZ). Since I only was going to drive the truck to the smog station, I decided to leave the modified waste gate elbow in place and just be easy on the go pedal. Well, that was the plan anyway. A friend of mine called and asked if I could pick up some wood and while passing a slower car, I must have overboosted and got a check engine light. After a few miles and cycles from the key, the check engine light went out but the P1693 code remains on the odometer. Will this ever clear up on its own (I believe that it does) or do I manually have to clear it--a standard OBD-II scanner won't do it. I know I've been here before but just don't remember how long it takes. Need to get the truck smogged this weekend. TIA.

Got the code out. Forgot that I had to clear it with my OBD-II scanner. I even was able to see the overboost code. Interesting that the odometer only displays the P1693.

Thank you Monte. I thought that I had woken up in one of those sci fi movies being the last person on the planet.

yes?
no?
maybe.
Is that what you were really thinking?
