Little back story, I bought a 2008 Ram 2500 about 2 years ago. It had 160,000 mile on it. Had been deleted and evidently a programmer was used on it because the CEL wasn’t on. I am assuming that it was programmed with a H&S tuner based on the fact that there is a H&S engraved plate on the intake air horn. Two weeks ago, I had the CEL come on and the lightning bolt indicating there was a problem with the throttle control group. I hooked up my code reader and it gave me the P2121 code. Erased it and everything seemed fine. Trouble lights gone. Went to the feed store to get feed, and it did it again. Pedal didn’t respond, and when it did it was like it had a mind of its own and would take off.
Stopped a mechanic shop and had them hook it up to their Snap On scanner. Came back with the same P2121 code. He cleared it and suggested that I clean the battery cable connectors and bolts. I did that, but didn’t help, because it did it again not 5 miles later. Ordered a new TPS sensor/pedal from Geno’s and installed it. I took the cables off of the batteries for 30 minutes prior to installing it. Hooked everything back up, still no change, except now my code reader will not erase the P2121. Any help, guidance, direction will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Carl
